If you're a fan of unsettling suspense, twisted secrets, and stories that crawl under your skin and stay there, Brian O’Sullivan needs to be in your TBR. I must blame him for my lack of sleep last night. Although, to be fair, he did leave a warning at the beginning of the book that the reader would be up all night to reach the thrilling conclusion!

Thanks to the Facebook group "Psychological Thriller Readers", I discovered Brian O'Sullivan last year and quickly fell in love with his writing and his main character, Bobby McGowan.
After binge reading each book in a single sitting, I can confidently say that O’Sullivan is a master of subtle dread and emotional storytelling that lingers long after the final page. Each book earns an enthusiastic five stars from me. The books feel realistically intimate with a quiet horror looming over me while I was reading. I had to leave the lights on after each book and snuggle with my pups and hubby for protection.
If you have not read "The Photo Album" and "The Other Annie", be sure to read them before you press play on "The Video Tape".

I started "The Video Tape" with high hopes and was not disappointed. Cold cases are fascinating, and I had every faith that Bobby would solve it through his dogged determination, unwillingness to quit, and ability to think outside the box. I did not expect any of the twists, and was left with a feeling of sadness for Bobby and his father. No spoilers here, but I really hope Mr. O'Sullivan is working on the next book!
This is a five-star thriller that sucks you in and sticks with you. Highly, highly recommended. Just maybe don’t read them alone at night.
